That slide of life

OK, so I am having a birthday today. It's not a real exciting one. It doesn't roll off the tongue. It's not one of those landmarks. It's on a downward slide toward 60 I guess. Somewhat blah. I wish I had something witty to say about it. I am well over the gut renching blast of being 50. Being a good soldier now I have to gird my loins for the future. It's tremendous what I've seen after passing 55 year's of living in America. I love my country and my state. I have experienced great things and some tough life experiences and decisions. Giving birth and being present at the birth of my grandchildren, then holding the hands of my loved ones as they passed away has impacted my life and my outlook.

Now I need to prepare to enjoy the present.

All in all, I'm in good shape... wellll,,, health wise I am blessed and husband wise, I am really blessed and grand children, I am 4 times blessed! The Lord is watching over me.

My job has become a soap opera and way too hectic. I wish in my slide toward 60 I could say I was looking at early retirement from this craziness.

I have a favorite Beatles song - "In My Life"
- sing with me now --

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all.

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these mem'ries lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more.

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more.
In my life I love you more.
